Mike McKerracher: Full Volume, No Limits

Mike McKerracher: Full Volume, No Limits

There's a certain kind of energy that can't be faked. The rush of a packed room, the crack of a snare cutting through a wall of guitars and that split second when the whole band locks in and everything just hits. For Canadian drummer Mike McKerracher, that feeling is what makes playing live so addictive. Growing up with a love for music and picking up the sticks at thirteen, Mike found his place behind the kit in a world where attitude, precision and a healthy appetite for noise go hand in hand. From hard-hitting rock to infectious pop hooks, he's developed a style that's as much about personality as it is about power. Every performance is a chance to bring something of his own to the music.

Mike's journey took a major step forward in 2019 when he joined Canadian pop-punk outfit Bearings, becoming part of a band already making waves with their mix of soaring melodies, punchy guitars and unapologetically honest songwriting. His playing helped drive the band's evolving sound through releases including Hello, It's You, The Best Part About Being Human and Comfort Company. Along the way came the miles, the late nights and the kind of touring experiences that turn a group of musicians into a tight-knit unit. From intimate club shows to international tours, Mike found himself right in the middle of a scene built on connection, community and the pure release of playing music loud.

But Mike's musical world doesn't stop at pop-punk. His work with alternative-pop artist Tessa Violet has taken him into a different creative space, where infectious melodies, dynamic arrangements and theatrical live energy call for a whole new approach behind the kit. He's also performed with rock outfit Pop Evil and taken on drumming duties with metalcore band Crown the Empire, moving effortlessly between polished pop production and the relentless physicality of heavier music. It's a range that demands far more than simply playing fast or hitting hard. Knowing when to pull back, when to push forward and how to give each artist their own musical identity is all part of the challenge. For Mike, that's exactly what keeps things interesting.

Away from the stage, Mike has built a following of his own, sharing drum covers, playthroughs and behind-the-scenes moments with an online community of musicians and fans. It's another outlet for the creativity that drives his playing, giving him the freedom to explore new ideas and connect directly with people who share his enthusiasm for the instrument. As part of the Rogers family, Mike brings that same energy to a brand with a history of doing things its own way. Whether he's throwing himself into a high-octane live show or getting creative behind the camera, the motivation remains the same: keep challenging yourself, keep enjoying the process and never lose the excitement of playing. Different sounds. Different stages. The same unstoppable energy.
