Heavy music has never been just about playing loud. It's about tension, release and knowing exactly when to let everything go. Giuseppe Capolupo understands that balance better than most. Growing up around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, his musical education started with classical piano before an older brother's drum kit changed the direction of everything. What began as playing along to whatever came on the radio quickly became something bigger. Jazz, funk and technical drumming opened up a world of possibilities, with players like Jojo Mayer, Benny Greb and Dennis Chambers showing him just how far rhythm could be pushed. It wasn't the most obvious route into metalcore, but that's exactly what makes his approach different.
Before the big tours and festival stages, there were local shows, late nights and a growing hunger to take things further. Giuseppe cut his teeth in Pittsburgh's heavy music scene with Demise of Eros before joining hardcore outfit Once Nothing. The pull of the road proved impossible to ignore, and he left university during his first semester to pursue music full-time. Years of relentless touring followed, along with the kind of experience that changes how you approach an instrument. In 2009, he joined Haste the Day, taking his playing around the world and becoming part of a defining chapter in the band's history. Through it all, he built a reputation for bringing musicality and precision to music that thrives on intensity.

“These drums can handle any genre I throw at them.”
In 2016, a new chapter began when Giuseppe stepped behind the kit for The Devil Wears Prada. What started as a recording and touring role developed into a permanent place in one of metalcore's most recognised bands. From Transit Blues and The Act to ZII, Color Decay and Flowers, he's helped drive a sound that's constantly evolving, moving between crushing heaviness, atmospheric textures and moments of unexpected restraint. The ZII EP stands out as a particular milestone, representing some of the most technically challenging material Giuseppe has written with the band. It's music that demands more than speed and stamina. Every breakdown, every subtle shift and every explosive moment needs to mean something. And that's where Giuseppe thrives, finding the space between technical control and the freedom to let loose.
For Giuseppe, the boundaries between genres have always been there to be crossed. From jazz charts and funk grooves to the raw energy of packed-out metal shows, he's built a career on curiosity, hard work and a willingness to go wherever the music takes him. Behind his Rogers drums, that philosophy finds a natural home, bringing together character, power and an unmistakable sense of feel. It's not about playing by the rules or fitting someone else's idea of what a heavy drummer should be. It's about finding your own voice and pushing it further with every show, every record and every new challenge. Beyond the volume. Beyond the expectations. Beyond the noise.
